Hi there readers 👋

It’s so nice to write to you again.

Firstly, I want to say thank you for all the positive responses to our previous blog posts. It is amazing to have you all in our corner.

Now, about today’s post, I want to share with us how I spend my every day and, I hope that you’d like it and you’ll share yours with me afterward.

At about 5’ O Clock in the morning, my alarm goes off with the soothing sound of “take over, spirit take over” by Theophilus Sunday filling up my room. This is how I start my quiet time.

I tell you outrightly that nothing beats the time spent in God’s presence. It is refreshing!

I like to use the You Version Bible app so I read the verse of the day, and then continue with a Bible plan which helps set the course of my day.

I also have another amazing app called ‘’Abide’. With this app, it feels like I’m eating God’s word and, it is such a great way to feed my spirit man.

I find that talking to God immediately I wake up makes all the difference.

Mark 1:35 (AMP) says ‘’Early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left (the house), and went out to a secluded place, and was praying there’’.

So, by praying, studying, and spending time with God in the mornings, I receive precision and accuracy for the day and even beyond.

The clock strikes 6:00 am, it’s time for family devotion.

We share scriptures and pray. We like to say that “A family that prays together stays together’’ 😉

If you are anything like me, after devotion, you’ll try to catch a little sleep before prepping for the day.

I work a part-time job as a protocol officer in an organization so, on a typical workday, I leave for work at about 9:30 am.

The journey from my house to the office takes about 6 minutes. Yes! I work very close to home so, I have no business with Lagos traffic 😀

To me, my job bears so many similarities to my life as a believer.

As a protocol officer, I have to go where my superior goes or where she sends me.

The same applies to my life as a believer because where the Lord sends me is where I will and should go.

John 12:26 (ASV) says “If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will the Father honour’’.

Another similarity is, waiting.

As soon as my superior calls to say she is on her way, it does not matter how close or far she is from work, I must wait on her and receive her once she comes.

The same applies to my relationship with God, there are times God will instruct me to wait on him, the timeline may be uncertain, but my total obedience is required.

At about 4:00 pm, everyone prepares to close for the day although sometimes, the closing time is largely dependent on special occasions that may arise.

On some rare occasions, we have had to close at 8:00 pm.

After work, I go home to unwind and relax.

Sometimes, it could mean watching a movie or spending time with my siblings, everyone just catching up on the activities of the day.

Other times, it could mean me watching a football match while silently praying that my team brings home the win or feeling a bit sad when they lose.

At 10:00 pm, I have my Bible study.

A Bible character I’ve been studying for a while has been Abraham.

There’s so much to learn from “the father of faith”. Sometimes, I find studying about him to be very thought-provoking.

Before I let you go, one thing I am learning as a believer in my day-to-day activities is that I can create the atmosphere I want.

It could mean me praying in tongues every time on my way to work, involving and inviting the Holy Spirit into everything I do throughout the day and not just in the things I consider spiritual.

It could also mean listening to worship songs that help condition the state of my spirit man or sometimes, messages.

My point is that as a believer, you have to be intentional about growing daily. Therefore, your everyday life must accommodate and portray your God-life.

Also, it’s okay to take time out to unwind and relax.

It could be going to the park to get your adrenaline flowing, it could also be a solo date to the cinema or even a restaurant or maybe a lunch date with a couple of friends.

The point is, amidst your busy schedule, have some “me” time too.

Now, having told you about how I spend a typical day, I’d like to hear how you spend yours.

You may share in the comments or you can share via mail if that’s more your style. You never know, I could learn a thing or two from you.

Until the next time that I write to you, you have all my love.

Stay Christian, stay salted, and don’t forget to tell somebody about Jesus.

Love, Otiotio.
