Our dearest reader, can we be friends?

It’s been a long minute, we know 😩…….Please forgive us 🥺🤲🏾

And it might be the 3rd of February, but it’s our first blog article of the year, sooooo…….

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! 🥳💃🏾

How have you been? How are your new year resolutions coming along? Were you able to do the things you planned to do in January?

Remember to take it easy and give yourself grace.

As for us, we’re both doing well, our year started off on a great note and we’re so excited to be writing to you today.

Now, back to our first question………

‘Can we be friends?’

Imagine you get asked this question by your sibling, what would your response be?

Yes? No? or ‘Ehnn?’

While you think on that, here is something noteworthy;

It is safe to say the first humans you connected with were either your parents or your siblings. This means that even though we never got to choose our immediate family, we can choose to find real friendship with them.

So, here are two more questions:

a. How was your relationship with your siblings growing up?

b. And how is your relationship with them now?

You must know that Christ’s love is boundless and all-encompassing, transcending judgment and conditions. In a similar vein, our relationships with our siblings are meant to reflect this divine love. Just as Christ loves us with our imperfections, siblings too are called to accept and support one another unconditionally.

True friendship is a gift, and what better friends to have than our siblings?

Since Valentine’s Day is often synonymous with romantic gestures, why limit the scope of love? Extend your expressions of affection to your siblings, your first friends in life.

This Valentine’s Day, celebrate the unique friendships you share with your siblings, recognizing that these bonds are equally, if not more, valuable than romantic relationships 👀

Consider giving thoughtful gifts, sharing kind words, and spending quality time to strengthen the bonds that Christ encourages us to build within our families.

“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.” — 1 Peter‬ ‭4‬:‭8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Just as Christ watches over us, we are called to look out for our siblings and friends. In times of joy or challenge, be the support system our siblings can rely on. Show them the same compassion and understanding that Christ showers upon us.

“Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” — Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭12‬-‭14‬ ‭NIV‬‬

In this month of love, and beyond, be a friend to your sibling. Get to know them, love them, forgive them and show up for them.

We pray that God strengthens you and helps you to walk in His word. Amen!

We hope you have an amazing February!

Also, tell a friend to tell 10 friends to check out the yellow blog, okay?
