Death is Dead

Dear yellow reader,

As I sit down to write this, I can’t help but feel the warmth of Easter flooding my heart. It’s more than just another holiday on the calendar; it’s the heartbeat of our faith, the very essence of our hope.

Today, I want to remind you of the beauty and significance of Easter, not just as a historical event but as a living reality that shapes our lives each day.

Easter is more than just a date or a tradition passed down through generations, it’s the cornerstone of our Christianity, and at its core lies the profound truth of Jesus’ victory over death.

Two thousand years ago, in a moment that changed the course of humanity, Jesus willingly laid down His life on the cross. But that was not the end of the story. Three days later, He rose from the grave, shattering the chains of death and offering eternal life to all who believe.

In this single act of love, God’s plan for salvation was fulfilled. The debt of sin was paid in full, and a bridge was built between God and humanity. Easter is the fulfilment of prophecy, the peak of God’s relentless pursuit of His people.

As we bask in the season, let us not simply move on to the next item on the agenda. Pause, reflect, and celebrate the triumph of resurrection.

JESUS IS ALIVE! DEATH IS DEAD!🥳💃🏾

One of my favourite things about Easter is the joy it brings. It’s a joy transcending circumstances, a reminder of God’s unending love towards us, rooted in the hope of a new life.

So, how can we celebrate this joyous occasion and keep its significance alive in our hearts?

Firstly, remember the reason for our celebration. Let the reality of Jesus’ victory over death permeate every aspect of your life, and as you gather with loved ones, share the good news of the Gospel, just as the disciples did so many years ago.

Secondly, enjoy the pleasures of life. Gather with your friends and family to share a delicious meal (nobody says no to a good smokey Jollof 😌) You could also include watching a meaningful movie together. One movie premiering this Easter is “Mistakenly Years” by Laju Iren.

Easter also presents an opportunity to extend God’s love to those around us. This year, my friends and I decided to celebrate Easter — through outreach.

We planned an outreach event where we had the privilege of sharing the real meaning of Easter with those in need. As we shared the story of Jesus’ sacrifice and resurrection, hearts were touched and lives transformed. But our celebration didn’t stop there. We also had the joy of providing food and essentials to everyone.

As I come to the close of this reflection on Easter, my heart is filled with gratitude for the gift of resurrection and the hope it brings.

May we never lose sight of the profound significance of Easter — the triumph of life over death and love over sin. Let us celebrate with joy and gratitude, sharing the good news of Jesus’ resurrection with everyone around us.

I love you!

Happy Easter!

Bukola 💛
