Happy Friday, Yellow Readers 😊

Happy New Month! 🎊 🎊 🎊

I’m excited about September, I hope you are too. Tell me in the comment section if you are.

I’d like to start this post with a question that I want you to answer.

Jesus said, “go into all the world and preach the gospel”

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature — Mark 16:15 KJV

Was the instruction for the twelve disciples alone or for every believer?

When you study the life of Jesus, you find that He kept teaching, healing, and doing miracles. Jesus didn’t say “Since I’ll die for these people, let me keep my miracles till it’s time to die for them”.

Rather, Jesus had a sense of duty, a sense of purpose.

Acts 1:8 says “But you shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost comes upon you and ye shall be witnesses unto me in Jerusalem, and all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth”.

The book of Acts was explicit about the deeds of the Apostles after they received the Holy Ghost.

The Apostles were willing to suffer and ready to go to any length to preach the Gospel of Jesus. This is how the Gospel got to you and me.

If the Apostles had the same disposition you currently have, do you think the Gospel will get to you? Or how far do you think it will get?

This is not to accuse or condemn you but to help you see evangelism with a sense of urgency and as something you must do.

You may have excuses such as; I do not want to be rejected for preaching, I do not know how to evangelize, my friends may stop talking to me, people have already heard the Gospel, I am too lazy to preach the Gospel, I don’t know enough to preach the Gospel, or I can’t answer their questions and I don’t want to look foolish.

Well, the Apostles may have had excuses too but they went out regardless.

Do you know who gave them the confidence?

The Holy Ghost. And He dwells in you, too.

So, if you are waiting till you know enough or are bold enough, you may wait till Jesus comes. Step out now with what you know.

You’re wondering how you’ll start the conversation if you decide to go? I’ll share a few conversation starters that may help.

1. Ask eternity-related questions.

● Where do you see yourself 150 years from now?

● Can you guarantee that you will wake up tomorrow?

● Where are you going to spend eternity if you don’t wake up?

● There is a 100% chance that you will die, do you realize that you’ll be dead longer than you ever lived?

The questions are to get people to think about life beyond here and that only Jesus guarantees life.

2. Use “word pictures”.

● If your favorite store had 50% off all clothing today, would you buy anything?

After they must have responded, go ahead to ask “how about a 99% off?”

In their excitement, they would most likely talk about how they would buy a lot of stuff.

You can then ask, “why they wouldn’t accept the offer of 100% off of all their sins; past, present, and future”

The goal of this is to present the Gospel as the best deal that they’ll ever get.

3. Act like a stranger and ask for help.

● You can go to a place or area and say to someone, “I am new to this area, can you please point me to the nearest church?”

After the person must have responded, ask for the church they attend. If their response is none, ask why and from their response, you can preach to them.

If they mention a church, ask why they worship there. The purpose of this is to know their knowledge of the Gospel.

People love helping so, ask for their help in locating a place or something they are familiar with.

4. Offer to help and be friendly.

● There’s a new person at your workplace or school; walk up to them and offer to help them settle in.

Then, try to get to know them and bring up conversations about the Gospel.

5. Ask questions.

I know you want to say your piece and bounce but you can slow down and ask questions.

● Have you heard the word & Gospel of Christ?

● What did you hear about it?

● Where did you hear it?

● What do you mean by that? x

● What if you are wrong?

● How do you know what you believe is true?

The purpose of this is to avoid assumptions and help people see why they believe what they believe.

I hope these conversation starters help you as you start out.

Be reminded that the Gospel is the Good News. Be compelled by love to share it because it is a message of love.

It is not enough to hear and believe it, you must do something with it.

Jesus has saved us. The least you can do is to tell it in every and any possible way to the ends of the Earth.

So, step out, preach and watch as the Holy Ghost convicts their hearts.

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: Of sin, because they believe not on me; Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged — John 16:8–11 KJV

I’d like to know when you go out to evangelize. So, tell me in the comments or send a mail to mailtheyellowblog@gmail.com.

I pray that you have a productive week and you do what you should as a believer.

Love,

Sike Bankz 💛
