Fun Things To Do As A Christian
My Perspective
It is often assumed that the Christian lifestyle is a boring lifestyle because all a Christian does is pray, study the Bible, and go to church.
While this assumption about having a boring lifestyle is false, it is important to know that having a devotional life and fellowshipping with other believers is one of the most interesting things about being a Christian.
That said, as a Christian, it is possible to have fun in a godly way, especially in a world that contradicts your faith and is willing to stifle your conviction.
You can have fun without compromising God’s Word.
Let’s take a look at some fun activities you can engage in as a Christian.
1. Play Board Games: Board games help family and friends bond while also having fun.
Examples of board games to play include Scrabble, Monopoly, Chess, Jenga, Checkers, Catchphrase, and more classic games.
There are also Bible Trivia games you can play to increase your knowledge of the Bible.
2. Visit A Park: You can have fun with loved ones by visiting a park.
At the park, you can engage in some outdoor activities like jumping ropes, tag, and running. You can play games, gist with friends and take pictures.
Some parks to visit are JJT Park, Ndubuisi Kanu Park, Gani Fawehinmi Freedom Park, Freedom Park, Jhalobia Recreation Park, and Gardens.
You can also check out more parks online.
3. Sip and Paint: This is another way to have fun with friends.
You’ll be given a painting board, brushes, pinned paper, or a picture of what to paint and you’ll be instructed on what to paint and the right colors to mix.
In between paintings, you are served finger foods and drinks as refreshment.
4. Karaoke: You don’t have to be a singer or have a good singing voice before you can participate in this activity.
Karaoke is entertaining and doing it with family or friends is even more fun. Thankfully, there are a whole lot of amazing Christian songs you can sing along to.
You can tune in to any of the shows on The Jesus Talks Radio, an expression of our parent company, to know more songs.
5. Watch a Movie: This is a way to relax and entertain yourself.
You can either choose to be indoors or go to the cinema alone or with friends. Note that there are a lot of ungodly movies, as well as there are edifying movies that you can relax with.
6. Paintballs: This involves two teams competing against each other to eliminate the players of the opposite team by hitting them with paint filled pellets or balls fired from a compressed gas powered gun.
This is one activity where you can have unlimited fun and a little physical exercise 😉
7. Visit A Gallery: Visiting an Art gallery can be fun, stimulating, and thought-provoking.
You get to see through an artist’s mind as you connect with their art.
Some of the art galleries you can visit are Rele Gallery, Nike Art Gallery, Red Door Gallery, etc. You can as well check online for more.
8. Travelling: This takes you out of your comfort zone and inspires you to experience new things.
Travelling is one fun way to feel light-hearted and happy as you are away from work and your routine.
9. Yacht Cruise: This is exciting and fun.
Although, I have never been, I hear that you get to experience a deeper and greater touch with nature.
You also get to engage in activities such as dancing, swimming, dining, meditating, and so on.
10. Going to the Beach: Apart from the relaxation of the mind that comes with being at the beach, you can also engage in outdoor activities, especially with loved ones.
There’s horseback riding, volley ball, tug of war, etc.
The above list contains some of the ways you can have fun as a Christian within the confines of God’s Word.
1 Corinthians chapter 10 vs 31 says, “Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God”.
Hence, whatever you decide to do for fun should be appealing and acceptable before God and must be to His glory.
I just touched base, I definitely do not think I mentioned all.
So, if you know other fun activities Christians can engage in or if there are any you engage in that isn't listed here, please share with me and everyone else in the comments.
Also, tell your friends and loved ones about us! We’d love to have more readers.
I look forward to writing to you again. May God’s Grace keep you always.
