Hello Readers! 👋

Happy new week! 💃 💃 💃

I pray that this week, you wear Favor as a garment, and your mouth is filled with laughter. Amen.

I would like to say thank you for always reading our blog posts, sharing our content as well as engaging. It means a lot to us 😊

This is a continuation of the blog post ‘’Hearing From God pt.1’’.

I wrote about Hearing From God through dreams, visions, and scriptures.

Today, I will address two more ways.

Firstly, I tell you for free that if we do not spend time with God, to hear him would be a bit difficult.

He always speaks but if we haven’t tuned our hearts to listen to Him, we will keep missing His voice.

Let me give an example. Think of the person you are closest to, it could be a parent, sibling, or a friend who at this point is like family to you.

If you hear this person’s voice always because you listen to them, even while asleep, they’re easily identifiable to you because you spend time with them.

The same applies to Hearing From God. His voice becomes familiar because we consistently listen to Him.

Now, let’s get into today’s post.

1. Other People

God can and will speak to us through other people.

God speaks to us through prophets, teachers, pastors, men & women of God, and other brethren in the Faith.

Has it ever happened to you during Sunday service that your pastor starts preaching and it just feels like he’s speaking directly to you? Or sometimes, a prophecy or word of knowledge is given and it is directed to you?

Yeah, God works like that. He chooses to use vessels to dispense His goodness.

Jeremiah chapter 3 vs 15 tells us what God says about others;

And I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will guide you with knowledge and understanding — Jeremiah 3 vs 15 NLT

God speaking to us through others is not limited to our pastors or teachers though. He could speak to our friends, other pastors, or even brethren in the faith.

The important thing is God wants to speak and is always speaking to us.

2. Our Heart

I want to believe a large percentage of us can relate to this.

God speaks to our hearts by His Spirit; the Holy Spirit.

Some of us are probably like “something just told me” or “I heard in my heart”. It’s not “something”, it is the Holy Spirit dwelling in you and I speaking expressly to our hearts.

We must know that the Holy Spirit would always speak to us based on God’s word. This means that anything He tells us is always in alignment with what God’s word says and can be found in God’s word.

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me — John 15 vs 26 KJV

Please bear in mind that there are diverse ways that God can and will speak to us. He is God and He is sovereign so He is not limited in His ways.

In the Bible, there was one very unorthodox way God spoke to a certain man named Balaam. God made his donkey speak to him (You can read all about it in the book of Numbers chapter 22).

I honestly wonder what that experience must have felt like.

Finally, be reminded again that God is always speaking to us, to you. And, he desires that we hear him, always.

Thank you for reading this series.

I would love to hear the various ways God speaks or has spoken to you. You can share in the comment section or send a mail to mailtheyellowblog@gmail.com.

Until the next time that I write to you, you have all my love. Stay salted, remain deeply rooted in Christ Jesus, and tell somebody about Him.

Love, Otiotio 💛
