How To Prepare For Sunday Service
TGIF! 🎉🎉
It’s the weekend already and I am so excited 💃🏽💃🏽
Because I get to rest from work and see my siblings in Christ on my favorite day of the week ☺️
I’m usually pumped to go to church on Sundays and I ensure that I start my preparations on Saturday.
Why do I prepare?
Well, gathering with other believers is an integral part of our Christian faith. Treating it with levity or nonchalance is unacceptable. This means we should always prepare for church services, especially Sunday services.
So, how does one prepare for a church service?
1. Prepare By Praying.
Before you set out for church, you should spend some time praying. Pray for everyone that will minister and your receptiveness to their ministry.
2. Condition Your Mind To Receive.
When you prepare for service, set your desires on receiving from God. Don’t go to church to mark a calendar or be a spectator. Be ready, instead to receive God’s word to the end that your profiting appears to all.
3. Plan To Edify Others.
1 Corinthians 14:26 says,
“How is it then, brethren? Whenever you come together, each of you has a psalm, has a teaching, has a tongue, has a revelation, has an interpretation. Let all things be done for edification”
You must be conscious that the gathering of believers is a spiritual one. So, you should seek to edify and encourage others. Either through words of knowledge, wisdom, or even a hug or smile. Be a blessing to someone because you were in church.
4. Condition Your Mind To Give.
You shouldn’t go to church without making plans to give. Teachings have shown us to give in response to what God has given us. How much do you intend to give as an offering? Decide and set it aside.
5. Plan Your Outfit.
If you had a 7 am interview, you would not wake up at 6 am to search for clothes to wear. You would have thought about and picked your outfit the previous day. Give that same thought to Sunday service. Church service is important and picking out your outfit ahead shows how much regard you have for it.
Do not treat church service with a lackadaisical attitude. Instead, honor it by preparing for it and showing up.
It is true that God now lives in us, yet, He loves when we gather because He didn’t create us to be alone.
If you’ve never prepared for a church service, you should do so this Sunday. If you’ve always prepared for church, share how you prepare with me in the comments.
Till I write to you again, have a beautiful weekend.
Love, Sike Bankz 💛
