Can you believe it’s already the first Friday of September? And that we’re just three months away from a new year? Time does fly!

I hope this new month has been kind to you and that 2024 has treated you well.

I’ve been on quite the journey. Life has been full of ups and downs, and I’m learning to trust God in every aspect. August 22nd marked exactly three years since I got saved, and I’ve been reflecting on how much I’ve changed and grown over these years. God has been incredibly faithful. It’s been three years of learning, unlearning, and relearning.

One of the things I had to unlearn was my choice of music. Early in my walk with God, I discovered how powerful music can be. It shapes our thoughts and influences our hearts. I knew I couldn’t keep listening to the songs I used to enjoy; something had to change. That’s when I discovered Christian music, and it became a new and uplifting part of my relationship with God.

Music has a unique way of touching the heart and soul. For new converts, Christian music can be a powerful tool in their faith toolkit. It’s not just about singing along or enjoying a melody; it’s about connecting deeply with God’s promises and tangibly expressing one’s faith.

The lyrics of Christian songs often echo biblical truths and promises, providing a safe space for spiritual growth. When a new believer sings about God’s faithfulness, love, or grace, these truths become more than abstract concepts — they become deeply felt realities. Songs like “Daddy Dada” by Daniel Bentley or “Good Good Father” by Chris Tomlin don’t just tell us about God’s character; they help us experience it. Daily reinforcement of faith through music can be incredibly encouraging, especially during challenging times.

Christian music can be a powerful source of emotional support. Songs with uplifting messages can provide solace and remind you that you are not alone. The reassuring lyrics can be a source of strength, helping you soothe worries and lift your spirit when needed.

Music has a unique ability to make complex ideas more accessible. Christian songs frequently incorporate scripture, making it easier for new converts to remember and understand biblical teachings. Songs referencing or paraphrasing Bible verses can be memorable tools for learning scripture, bridging the gap between theological concepts and everyday application.

Christian music can also be a wonderful companion during prayer. For new converts, listening to instrumental worship music can help create a calm and peaceful space, making it easier to focus on connecting with God. The right music can make prayer time feel more personal and meaningful.

As we continue to grow in our faith, let us remember the profound impact that the songs we sing and listen to can have. They should uplift our spirits and deepen our understanding of God’s promises and presence.

For those new to the faith, integrating Christian music into your routine can be a powerful way to nurture and express your newly found faith.

I pray that your experience with Christian music brings you as much peace and joy as it brought me.
